GMAT VS GRE

What is the GMAT?

The GMAT or Graduate Management Admission Test is mostly a necessary part of the admissions process for business schools full time. The GMAT is a standardized test 3 part that helps admissions officers to select the best candidates. It measures basic verbal, mathematical and analytical writing that the applicant is deemed to have developed over years of formal education and professional experience.

What is GRE?

GRE (Graduate Record Exam) is part of the admissions process for graduate programs. It's not business as the GMAT test and is used for all types of graduate programs. Some business schools are beginning to accept the GRE with the GMAT, but the number is very limited and the GMAT is considered the standard for business schools.

GMAT vs. GRE:

The GMAT and GRE tests are very similar in that they test analytical writing, math and verbal. The GMAT Verbal reasoning tests as-critical-Sufficiency and quantitative data are not available on the GRE. GRE contains problems on relations of vocabulary and words that the GMAT does not test on.
Overall business school applications are up and your GMAT score has become more important. MBA programs are counter-cyclical to the economy which means that the economy falls herd people to MBA programs to continue their studies and provide a necessary boost to their resume.

The section of math or quantitative GMAT is by far the most difficult and is often a challenge that most candidates have been professional work environment for a few years ago and advanced skills in mathematics declined. To regain it knowledge or learn for the first time students are looking for resources to help them get good results on the math section. Study guides and classroom courses are common resources used when a student is preparing for the GMAT.
